Summer Break- What's wrong with that?
"Now that you have joined our rankssss, you are sssubject to our rulessss and punisssshment. I'm ssssure that Rytn has already sssshown you our Battle Dragon caverns."
"Yes Master. He has."
"Good, that issss the pricccce for breaking your oath. Remember that." He then called over Rytn. "You will train thisss dragon, he will accompany you on your missssionssss until you deem him capable of completing tassskssss by himssself."
"Underssssstood, Masssster."
"Hissss failuressss are your failuressss. Do thissss well and you may have a mate before the sssseasssson comessss on thissss time. Disssmisssssed."
I followed Rytn out of Master's Cave and back into the throng of the dragons. Most dragons seemed to part ways for him. I, however, was not treated in the same manner and was jostled around like a sack of potatoes. I really began to get irritated as this large quad dragon practically ran into me.
The tingling sensation came back and focused to my scales. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see sparks dancing on my scales, and to whoever got to close. More than one dragon got a good shock before they got the idea and moved out of my way.
I saw Rytn waiting for me at the entrance to a large tunnel. I walked over to him and he got shocked with the electricity on my scales.
"Ssstop the sssshock," he hissed
"I don't have control of it." I said but I relaxed, and the sparks faded.
"Sssure. Jussst come with me." He started walking down the tunnel and I followed him through. The tunnel branched off many times and I soon lost track of the direction we had come. Faint moonlight came from the end of the tunnel.
We walked into the night and were met by a towering forest. To all sides, we were surrounded by a large bowl-like valley. I could hear the forest creatures doing their nighttime activities and I knew what we were out here for.
"So you are going to teach me how to hunt?" I asked bluntly.
"Not quite," he replied, "I'm going to draw out your hunting instincts and you will already know how to hunt."
He walked in front of me of me and said, "First, you need to broaden your senses. You need a lot more than sight to track down prey, most of the time you won't be able to see your prey until you lunge, dive, or whatever." I nodded and expanded my awareness, soon scents, sounds and minuscule movements and details came pouring through my senses and I withdrew back into my normal range, a little frightened. Rytn was laughing, "I had that same expression the first time, though I was alone in the woods around my house."
"That's not funny," I said with a wounded pride. I tried again, but I didn't retreat back to myself again. I could detect many different creatures. Rytn's voice cut through my thoughts, "Try and find a rabbit or bigger, anything else is a waste of energy to hunt." I redirected my focus and found a group of deer not far away. I ran through the forest more silently than I ever imagined. When I arrived to the point where they might detect me, I realized I was downwind from the herd. I don't know if it was an accident, but when I flowed into a stalking stance, I knew that my instincts had surfaced and were helping me hunt. I focused on a young doe on the edge of the herd, healthy but not a particularly big one.
I crept without a sound to the edge of the herd and waited for the moment to strike. I saw an opportunity when the herd moved that my target was directly in front of me and no other deer where in the way. I leapt and by the time the deer where alarmed, I had killed my target and brought down another with my tailblade.
I was about to begin feasting, my mind still be locked in a hunting stage, when Rytn congratulated me from the tree line, "Well done, you are a natural." I then snapped out of the primitive state I was in and noticed the blood on my scales, it disturbed me, but not as much as having Graid's on me. Rytn walked over and picked up the larger of the two deer, I almost growled at him before he explained, "Your uppers get the first pick of anything, fight me if you want to keep your prey." I very well considered it, but I didn't want to put more blood on my heart, so I went over to my original deer, and bit into it. I'm sure if I wasn't starving, or if I had been in any other situation, I would not have eaten the deer, but I did. Bones were cracked and marrow eaten. Raw meat tasted much different than cooked. More … well, rawer. It wasn't bad but it was a tough call to see which I preferred more.
I finished my deer and felt immensely tired. Rytn soon finished the other deer. "There is a waterfall near the cave, wash the blood off in that and then go to the caves and find you one to claim." He instructed and I left him to do so. He puzzled me. One moment he is trying to be my friend, and the next he is eating my prey.
I walk back through the forest to the cave. Sure enough there was a waterfall to the side of the tunnel and I washed off the gore from my kill. Once that was done, I wondered how in the heck I would find the sleeping caves. I decided to try and open my senses.
Almost immediately, I pinpointed a large number of dragons sleeping, and made my way through the tunnels until I was met with a wall lined with caves. I decided on a decent cave that was unoccupied and settled in. The rock was soft on my scales, but it did help that I had spent many nights sleeping on the ground during campouts. I was asleep in minutes.
I appeared in a serene meadow. My dreamscape. Another dragon approached me. Hyulir.
"You seem to be taking to your draconic roots quite well. Though it would be much easier if you would bond with me. All my power and abilities will be yours."
I pondered his offer before replying, "That hunt was the lowest point in my entire life. Never have I killed for my own goals. I didn't want to kill Graid, but he was going to kill me."
It was almost as if I gave Hyulir a physical blow. "Why you insolent whelpling! I can give you all the power you all want."
"I want the power to go home."
Another blow, "Without me you will so weak that you can't even move."
"Then I'll grow stronger without you, I'll master the dragon in me. Beginning with you. " I said snarling and leaping at him.
He dodged to the side and blew a wave of liquid nitrogen at me. "If you won't accept me, I'll just take over our body."
"Never!" At my cry the scene changed. The surroundings became cartoon-ized. A large rocket launcher was rotating in the air in front of me. The Arbitrator. I looked around and saw the rest of my surroundings. I was now in the Dark Cathedral, multiplayer arena, on Rachet: Deadlock. I also noticed that I was smaller, but still a dragon, I just had on the Marauder armor. I frowned and changed it to the Liberator armor, I love my dreams.
I grabbed the Arbitrator and started looking for the other weapons. I had collected the Magna Cannon, B-6 Obliterator, Holo-Shield Launcher, and the Scorpion Flail before I ran into Hyulir. He was outfitted with the Marauder armor and was holding the Hunter Mine Launcher.
"Your mind is really screwed up, you know that?" he told me before setting a bunch of mines around me. I quickly switched to the Magna Cannon and blew away the mines. Then a change to the Scorpion Flail and I laid Hyulir on the ground. A loudspeaker called out, "Human/Dragon Hybrid, 1. Dragon Instincts, 0"
I always played to 10 kills, so I'm guessing my dream will do the same. I grabbed his weapon pack, which included the Hunter Mine Launcher, of course, and a Fusion Rifle, thank God.
I had my weapon of choice and took off toward my sniping point. After two seconds I realized I had an advantage that I didn't normally have in the game. I spread my wings and began to fly. I picked up the attack bonus and flew high into the air… just in time to see the Hovership flying at me. I shifted to the Arbitrator and dove under the first shot.
I hit the ship with a rocket and latched onto the wing panel and short circuited the system with a bolt of lightning. I let go and the ship began to explode. Hyulir bails and the match turned aerial.
I draw the Dual Vipers and riddled him with holes. He turns and blasts me with the Magna Cannon. I draw my wings in and dive for the ground. Hyulir maneuvers in front of me and I take another shot of the Magna Cannon. I change to the B-6 and he takes a direct hit. "You may have beaten me in maneuverability, but I will dominate you in my skills." The overhead sounded with my second kill and the scene changed again.
I was behind the seat of the Assassin Super, in Burnout 3. I started to laugh evilly. No way wasss Hyulir going to beat me here. I tore down the Silver Lake Road. A Dominator Super took some airtime behind me. Hyulir just doesn't know when to quit. He tried to pass me. I always did like the 'Gone Fishin'' Signature Crash. I wonder how it feels to be in a flaming wreak.  I turned a sharp corner, drifting, and the track changed to Downtown. USA Number 1 Takedown hotspot. Hyulir's car came flying in from my rear and slammed into me. The hit sent me flying into a pillar giving Hyulir the 'Pillar Driller' Signature. Crushed, burned, and getting exploded is not fun at all. The count was now at 3/1.
I growled and I soon responded in the middle of the Waterfront course. My tires squealed as I hit the gas and took off. I saw a speeding car weave through the traffic about 100 feet ahead and hit the nitro. If my mom ever saw me drive like this, I will never get my license. 200+ miles per hour will keep your heart pounding. I maneuvered right beside him and then proceeded to grind him into the guard rail. He lost control and his car went flying in the air. 4/1 in my favor.
The scene went white and my car disappeared. Hyulir soon appeared next to my in the whiteness. "What in the name of dragon was that?!" He demanded. I grinned, but I didn't reply.
The white began to take shape and color. A glass platform traveling through space. Final Destination on the Super Smash Brothers Brawl.
<Crap, a fighting based game. Hyulir is going to have the advantage.>
I focused and Ike's bandana and cape appeared on me, as well as his sword in my hands. I was like a Dragon Kirby. Hyulir stayed the same.
"Let's dance." I said in this dual voice that was mine and Ike's at the same time. I dashed at him, Ike's sword held out in front of me. He jumped over me and struck with Lucario's Aura Sphere. "So you took over Lucario's power. Your strength  is weak." I decided not to tell him that he'll get stronger as we fight. I ran at him and struck him hard with an upswing, sending him in the air. I through my sword up at him. It spun and cut into him as I leapt in the air after him. I grabbed my spinning sword and then brought it down upon Hyulir and slammed him down on the battlefield.
<So that is aether> I observed. Hyulir groaned as he got up. But he quickly grew angry and his Aura powers increased. "Ah crap."
Hyulir charged an Aura Sphere and threw through it at me. I blocked with my sword. However, I feel into his trap and I got a Force Palm in my back. I was thrown forward but not yet off the platform. I turned around and another Aura Sphere was there to greet me. That one threw me off and I was blasted into hyperspace. It is impossible to describe getting responded so I won't even try.
I dropped down to the field. And Hyulir ran at me. I built power and when he was close enough, I slammed my sword into the ground and the shockwave just sent Hyulir flying off into the distance. The score was now 5 to 2. When he came back, he didn't waste anytime hitting me with a Double Kick from above.
<D***, his fighting style is amazing. Ruthless and powerful.> For a moment I considered ending this fight and just fusing with my feral mind. But then I thought about the clan dragons I had been living with and immediately decided against it.
"And I was so close too" Hyulir commented.
"Get out of my head!" I commanded him.
"I'm a part of your head." He reminded me. He then launched a series of weak Aura Spheres at me. I was able to shrug them off. He was weak again and they were barely charged.
"Not very effective." I mimicked the line used from Pokémon.
He ran at me like a Lucario would, arms trailing behind him. He knocked me in the air and leaped up. He then hit me with another Double Kick and I was blasted off the screen, again. 5/3 score.
I noticed that the scene only changed when I gained my second kill in that game. Unless I could score another hit on Hyulir, we would stay on Brawl. That's when I saw my salvation. A Final Smash item, commonly called the 'bubble' in my house, drifted on the screen. I ran toward it and hit it with the sword. Hyulir ran at me, and I busted the Final Smash. I turn at him and I swing the sword for all its worth, which apparently is a lot. Hyulir was sent flying 15 feet in the air if not more. I fly up and start chopping into Hyulir. Each blow was the equivalent of getting hit with a truck. After hitting Hyulir a dozen times, my sword burst into flames and I bought it down on Hyulir's midsection. We fell back to the stage like a meteor and the impact was like an explosion. Hyulir didn't stand a chance and was long gone by the time I got up. 6/3
The scene changed once more. I was standing in the center of a circular platform with a heavy downpour all around me. Did I mention the glowing lightsaber in my hand? I was in the middle of the Kamino battle ground from my game Star Wars Battlefront 2. I used Force run to dash along the pathways, slicing CIS soldiers to scrap along the way. I was knocked back with a thud and then my head exploded in pain as a sniper got a headshot on me. When I responded at the nearest Command Post, I flew to the sniper and ripped him apart. The score was now 6/4 even if it was not Hyulir who killed me. As I hunted the board for him, the score leveled out with 4 of my deaths and 2 of his.
I finally saw another lightsaber across the field and dashed toward it. However before I reach him, he threw his lightsaber at me which impaled me. Remembering the location, I responded and rushed to the spot. I snarled as I leapt toward him, pinning him to the ground and plunged the lightsaber into his body.
He died and the dreamscape changed back to the meadow. I did a quick count of the kills and realized we were at an even 9/9. This last kill would make it or break it.
"You do realize if I kill you, you will cease to exist and our body will be mine to control."
"No, my body. You are only a passing guest." I replied.
"But even if you manage to kill me," he began, ignoring me. "Your draconic body will slowly morph your mind into a that of a feral's."
"No! I refuse to believe that. You are the cause of my draconic side, if I kill you then I can go back to normal."
"You are such a naïve human, which will change in time. Contrary to your stubborn mind, killing me will not change your body back into a human. You are a dragon until the day you die."
"That can't be true, I have to go back to my family. Being a dragon prevents that"
"Really? Has your family seen you yet? Have they rejected you because you are a dragon?"
"SHUT UP" My anger being to flare.
"Losing control of our anger I see, that will make it easier to take over our mind once you are out of the picture. Your rage makes you powerless."
I attacked him with a bolt of raging lightning. "I control my mind, therefore I control you!" I restricted his movements and the lightning struck him dead in the middle of his body. Instead of blasting straight through, the lightning cut him into pieces. There were five main pieces of Hyulir after my lightning was done with him. The head, torso, arms and legs, wings, and tail. Yet he was not killed. Which annoyed me.
I created five separate chests to contain the remains of Hyulir. However, when I tried to pick up the first pieces, the arms and legs, they tried to fuse with my own. "Even in defeat, this stupid dragon tries to control me." I growled. I ripped them off my body and threw them in the chest. Which I then sent into my deep subconscious.
I dealt with the torso, wings, and tail with the same way. But when I grabbed the head, Hyulir grappled with my mind. Before I could force him into submission, he changed many of my thoughts feral. "Enjoy my gift" Hyulir said as I slammed the chest shut and locked the head away as well.
I sat in the meadow. One moment it was the peaceful glade from before, and then it would shift into a blazing wildfire. I realize this was my mind. My human side was fighting the feral one that Hyulir implanted. I roared, this was my mind and I was going to be the one in control of it. I focused and I embraced both sides of my warring mind.
The scene stopped changing. I could not see what the outcome looked like because I then passed out.
Rather, woke up. I stood up in my cave, and was surprised to find that I had become a dragontaur. Not that I had anything against taurs, but I wasn't thrilled by it either. I focused on my human side, and my lower body changed into that of an anthro's. At this moment, however, My senses feld dulled and my limbs heavy.  I focused on my feral side and became a large quadruped dragon, not nearly as large as Master or a Battle Dragon, but still larger than either my taur or anthro forms. However, feral thoughts dogged my mind.
<This is going to take some getting used to> I thought as I reverted to the taur form at which my mind was better balanced. I walked out on my four legs while I rubbed my chin in thought.
After a long time on the backburner, the next chapter of my series based off =Farm-Fresh's story world and Arykh fights his feral mind.

I feel as if the last part of it is rather rushed, so like always I want your harshest comments.

The anthro-taur-quad shift was something that pratically begged to be in the story. I like it, but i want others opinions.

Games are (c) to their respective companies. (Deadlock, Burnout 3, Super Smash Bros Brawl, and Battlefront 2)

Anything else (c) to myself.
